Sale Photographic Society Website
Welcome to our website
Our photographic society was formed in 1946 from the desire to explore photography in its many different forms, and continues to this day embracing all the new technologies as they develop. The society currently has over forty active members who have the knowledge and expertise to give advice and guidance in most areas of picture taking and manipulation
The aim of our society is to promote photography in its many guises. To this end we have lectures and internal and external competitions with other clubs and societies, at which we are quite successful. The images from our print competitions are displayed in local exhibitions. Many are forwarded to the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (LCPU) for selection in their print folios.
A few times in the year we hold practical indoor and outdoor photo sessions where the members bring their own equipment then take pictures on a set subject or theme.
On the 21st March we will be hosting a presentation by Andrew Parkinson. See the Latest News page for more information
Visitors are most welcome and there is no pressure to join. However, you must be a member to enter the competitions. If you have an interest and would like to meet some new friends who can provide advice or guidance then come along. Our membership will look forward to meeting you and for further information see How to join SPS.
